The Digital Enterprise Show 2018, also known as DES 2018, took place on the 22, 23 and 24 May at the IFEMA exhibition centre in Madrid. The show focused on the Digital Transformation in which the business environment is immersed and on the technologies they should rely on to make this happen.
In this third edition, the DES has consolidated itself as a top show in the industry, both nationally and internationally. It has increased its turnout by 17% to 21,000 visitors, with the participation of 51 countries, and around 70% of visitors holding managerial positions. The 300 exhibitors and partners there included important companies such as Accenture, KPMG, Deloitte Digital, IBM, Indra, Ferrovial and even the FBI, to name a few. All of this has consolidated the vision that the show’s organisers have regarding the convergence between technology and business. A myriad of structured lectures were also on offer.
Thanks to the support of ICEX and Red.es, Serimag was chosen as one of the 11 participant companies in the Spanish Pavilion. In a privileged location at the show, we had the chance to show off our Artificial Intelligence solutions for intelligent document recognition to visitors. As well as answering all the questions they had about their specific businesses.
As with our Mobile World Congress 2018 appearance in Barcelona, we are completely satisfied with how attendees’ have received our solutions and the interest that was aroused. And to confirm this, it was a pleasant surprise to be among the nominees for “Best Digital Disruptor Start-up” at the European Digital Mindset Awards. It was a real honour to be among the selected companies, and the nomination felt even better when we saw that the winner was eCooltra, a brilliant company which has taken innovation to the highest levels in terms of mobility in large cities such as Barcelona, Madrid and Rome. Knowing that we’re just behind them means that we are doing well and on the right path.
Finally, the event offered us the chance to give a lecture at the congress. Under the title “Artificial Intelligence in business: from opportunity to necessity“, Daniel Garrido, our Technical and Project Director, offered attendees the vision that Serimag has regarding businesses and the implementation of this technology. And more specifically in Spanish companies where management teams seem more reluctant to incorporate it, either due to a lack of belief in its impact or due to a view of processes which is not focused on the new needs of users.
