In recent times we have witnessed the explosion of a technology such as Artificial Intelligence. The increased computing power and the refinement of algorithms with years of study behind them, have enabled a world of new possibilities for these systems to allow a qualitative leap in many areas and a clear competitive advantage among companies.
However, this technological tsunami in which many companies are venturing contrasts with data provided by a study conducted in 2021 by Gartner. It indicates that only 53% of projects go from prototypes to production. Little more than half of the projects achieve the goals and objectives set by the companies.
What is the reason for this lack of success?
The study points to the difficulty IT managers face when it comes to scaling these systems, where a lack of tools or knowledge prevents them from going into production. As Erick Brethenoux, research vice president at Gartner, points out, the biggest mistake is in the search for the desiredunicorns. AI talent is an accurate combination of skills in different areas, ranging from IT to business.
